Drive to Elerai Camp Amboseli, Kenya

ALL of sightings along the way...long but all pics and vids

Crowned, or Crested, crane

And something watching them in the background...wild dog? Jackal?

Yes, more crane...hey, we had to sit there so the ladies whose truck we hijacked can get the perfect shot with their jumbo lens, well so do YOU 🤣

Last crane

The last wildebeest on the Kenya side.  This is the end of migration so it is unusual to see them.

More wildebeest...they are hard to see but love how the pic turned out. I managed to get a few good ones with my phone cam

Oh Africans call them WILDbeest...I like that better

Crane but I don't remember type

Cranes

Flamingos...not very pink so they have different food source here than we are used to

We actually sat here for 45 minutes for big lens lady to get her perfect shot. Trouble was she kept taking camera away from her face just as they would get into the position she wanted. If you know me at all you know this was killing me after 20 minutes.  I bit my tongue...but there's more

Hippo stepping out in his watering hole finery

Stroll with his bird buddy

Hippo, bird, wildebeest

Big yawn

Last hippo...for this drive.

Zebra

Just in case...zebra

And...

Elephants. Amboseli is known for their elephants. Especially the super tuskers. Those elephants get names and one, Craig, is world famous. His tusks drag on the ground.

Miss Big Lens

The patriarch didn't find what he was looking for in that herd so he is taking his leave in search of something else.

We are on our way and so are they

Bye....

Watch out for the dirt devils

Hippo....

YEP..we turned around and drove back to the patriarch as he was crossing paths with hippo

Bye to elephant family

Ostrich

Signpost in the savannah

Different elephant...did you really think she made us turn around again? I would have put my foot down.

Another family of elephants

Entering the park...still 40 minutes to go. The 2 women in pic are walking over to sell us crafts

Waiting for driver and this gentleman comes over to chat

My tent bathroom

Lunch menu for today

I had the Pollo ala Limone with potatoes and veg...very good!!

Another view from common area

The camp watering hole. Daily wildlife stop by for a drink

Off to tent to unpack, rest up, prepare for evening drive
