Heritage Day in South Africa

Happy Heritage Day! This is a major holiday for South Africans and everyone has a braai...not so different than Americans grilling out on the 4th of July!

Unfortunately, the glorious sunny days have given way to Grey. It was 80 in CPT and 63 in Cape of Good Hope. The rest of the week is cloudy and low 60s to low 50s. Good thing I've got the Michelin man puffer!

I'm heading back to V&A Waterfront Mall to Woolies and exchange more money. Yes banks in the malls are open on holiday...even Christmas. Lone standing banks are closed.

Then, where to go...there are several museums that look interesting but they are all free today so probably very busy! Tomorrow! Maybe a shoulder massage or keratin treatment at the spa? Or reading a book in a library somewhere?

Now to lunch and a little souvenir shopping.

Hard Rock Cafe for t-shirts and...

Cheeseburger sliders with onion rings.

Back to hotel where they are having a braai on the terrace. DJ and lots of grilled meats!

To finish the day off....

Rick's Café Américain

A tribute to Casablanca. Cool decor, outstanding service, and tasty food.

Moroccan Chicken Brouchette. Chicken skewer marinated in lime and grilled. Green olive, coriander, and harissa relish with side of chickpea tomato salsa. I asked for some hummus on the side. Best meal in CT

Early night because tomorrow is another big day!
