First Game Drive Chobe National Park Botswana

Tuesday...is it Tuesday? If the alarm rings, I get up! Early day because we started for Chobe, Botswana, game drive. The game drive is 3 parts: 3hr drive, lunch at local restaurant, and 2hr boat cruise on the Chobe.

The Chobe and Zambezi meet up along with borders of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia.

The border was much more organized than the Zim-Zambia crossing. I had to get medical clearance since I came from South Africa...mpox. The detox the truck tires and our shoes...hoof and mouth.

Then to Chobe reserve. Home to 4 out of 5 big 5. I think you will be able to see which ones we checked off.

Oh I'm skipping the boat cruise here. No animals out at this time and the drive baked me...even with SPF70 sunscreen! I'm hanging out at the Cresta Mowana Lodge where we stopped for lunch in Kanane and posting this! Enjoy

Slightly better view of Marabou but still can't get a fell for how huge these birds are

Impala. They are everywhere

Can you see her?

In the center laying in the shade of the bush is a lioness

Cape buffalo

Young lion just napping. No clue we're even there.

These may be big but they are very hard to spot...

In the center between the trees

Good shot of his butt

There he is
